We do the security at Google, Nelson speaks the truth. Our guards are there to keep the secret in and the e-hamsters turning their wheels.

wow bringing this O/T back... I know at least two people I've met on rides that work in Victoria. Anyone got any interview tips?
-
• #20
does it say co-o-o-o-o-o-offee ?

Be prepared for marathon interview sessions. A friend of mine had fourteen separate interviews with Google, only to not get the job as the role he was going for was removed by a re-org. Ouch.
Another friend had twelve before he got a job there. I've seen him once since as he works very, very long hours, i.e. 12-14 hour days are normal. There's a reason why they offer staff so many in house perks, i.e. free food, dry cleaning, dental work. It's to keep the employees in the office, working.

Seconding what andyp said.
I knew someone that worked over in Dublin and she had 9 interviews, each of which involved flying over from a different country.
And yeah, the deal seems to be that you don't need to worry about anything (eg unmarried partner's dental work paid for even though they weren't living together, games consoles, free food, etc, etc, etc) but you have to work your arse off.
Bit of a weird one... but i'll be as honest as I can be.
I'm looking at this http://www.google.com/support/jobs/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=23386 and thinking 'do they have anything like this operating from the UK?'.
Does anyone here work at Google? Particularly anyone that knows about their product management side?
