You may have also ruined the thread on the cone and lock nut, so these might also need replacing.

You might also try searching for 'axle' rather than an ice-skating manoeuvre...

hello,
have been googlin. On the shimano spares site the only rear dura ace hub diagram i can find is for the HB-7710-R - will the same parts be compatible with my HB-7600? The closest i've come to finding what i think i need is THIS which is in the States. Anyone know where i can get one in the UK quick? Uk Bike store seemed to stock a load of shimano spares but couldn't find no axle goodness.
Thanks
R

Will at hub jub is really the best!! He's managed to get a whole Axle assembly for my exact hub!! What a genius!! Am so happy!!! Hopefully be back on the bike next week. now just to swap the assembly over.
Could anybody do it on here before i take it to a shop?? Will pay in booze or whatever!!!!! maybe even one mirrion dorra!
Hey Guys,
Sorry to bother you.
Did a search on axles and just found one about pretty much the same thing but for Phil a phil hub. Was an old thread so thought i'd start fresh.
Have just been doing the usual maintenance, Tightening chain up by pulling the rear wheel back. I Couldn't get the rear wheel off due one of the nuts being too tight. Anyway with an array of tools i got it off in the end. and I seem to have ruined the threads on the axle. I'd noticed it being hard to loosen before but felt i should just tighten it up as tight as poss so it didnt come loose when riding and my chain stayed nice and tight.
Is this easy to fix?? Can i Just get a replacement? Has anyone else had this problem or am i being a total Idiot?
Guess i will be getting the Tube tomorrow :( boo hoo.
Thanks
Ross
