I'm possibly interested but what size are they and to what use would they normally be put?

''i might want 'em cos they is free"
=D -
• #4
No, I might want them if I've got a use for them. I don't want them if I haven't got a use for them. If you want them 'cos they're free, go right ahead; don't assume that's why I want them.

OK, I give up.
What's a blanking screw?

A screw that ignores you, no matter how well you know it.
I honestly have no idea what else to call the buggers, so have stolen a phrase from this auction: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160281654838
Designed to smartly fill all those unused holes in your frame and forks.
Sorry for any confusion, my head is brilliant at being crap :)

so.... they're just bolts?
I've got some extra space filler lying around if anyone wants to come and collect it? I think I saw it on German ebay once listed as air....
-
• #10
Well, they are normal bolts (NOT screws, as I have to tell the fucking mini godless wonders who mob my shop on a minute to minute basis), except they are rounded at the top, which means there isn't any sharp edges to catch stuff on.

Hi all,
Have four of blanking screws lying spare around the office, anyone who needs them is welcome to them. The office I work in is on Aldersgate Street, Barbican, and during the evening's I'm based in Wapping. Give me a shout if you want 'em!

Are yours S/steel too?
I'm in need of two black ones [insert own joke here]. -

wow, that's brilliant, sounds like summat out of a Dickens novel.

are these the right size for bottle cage holes as well?
-
• #17
superprecise i bet youve ordered a bag of workshops floor sweepings,go on fess up
-
• #18
I am very tempted by the bag of workshop sweepings I have to confess.
It's one of those things that is bound to include lots of handy bolts etc that are a pain to find singly.
I might order one now.
-
• #19
I'm also tempted...
-

If enough of us buy them then we might end up with SJS having to empty new bags of random screws onto the floor of the workshop, give them a muddle and sweep them up again.

Sounds a bit like the opening scene in Blazing Saddles with the cowboys doing the singing and dances normally done by the railroad workers...

i suppose this is related, if anyone wants my floor sweeping your welcome to have them, however if you want the really good stuff i suggest getting into my bins – its like a ghetto version of pick ‘n’ mix
i live in Bristol, and you can collect it in the evening when i am sleeping
