Just squirt a load of oil on them, will quiet them right down. Remember to dry them off though or you'll stack it when trying to clip in.

job done then i guess, i would have just thought it may wash the grease out of the actual bearings and then cause them to fail.

^ I just squirted it onto the external bits, y'know the sprung bits where you clip in as they looked a little dry and were creaky. Didn't open anything up, thats overkill.

my spd pedals click like bitches, reckon greasing them will help?
what tools do i need? so far i know that i need a shimano tool to remove the covers
but do i really need to buy a vice? seems a bit over the top imo
