Noooo Im afraid the cabbies want me dead, that big cheshire cat smile as they swerve to pretend to knock me off. Anyway I can pick up their radio's on my teeth.
The van did say Chartered Surveyers - A higher class of WVM

The other day I saw a white van going down Pentonville Road with 'my bike can go faster than this van' written in the dust on the back, at about bike height.

Tomorrow I shall run a cyclist off the road purely to redress the balance...........

haha...good on the WVM
The missus had something similar the other week, some bloke was hollering at her out of a van. She thought it was abuse and came back with a right earful...turns out the bloke was complementing her on her bike and was asking where she got it!! Thankfully he saw the funny side too...

Similar thing happened to me couple of months back. I was coasting up to lights on Tottenham Ct Rd when I had someone beeping the horn at us from behind. Naturally ignored it, twice. Third time I was about to look round to find out what the fuck was going on when I suddenly got a massive head full of ambulance siren.
What is it with this lights but no siren thing? In my case it was about 7pm on a weekday, who the hell are they worried about disturbing in the centre of London? Silly bastards.

I had an exchange of words with a white van this morning.
I was arriving to work, a woman was cycling ahead of me and that white van turned left into a builders merchant yard, just in front of her, she had her hands on the side of the van to protect herself, at a faster speed this could have been nasty. She shouts, they don't seem to hear her, they go park their van and she does not bother going after them and cycles of.
I am upset about what I just saw, I go to the van and start:
"BLABLABLA"
The driver goes:
"BLABLABLA-MIND-YOUR-OWN-BUISNESS"
Me:
"BLABLABLA-MY-BUISNESS-CYCLIST-GET KILLED" (I'm nervous and I don't make much sense, I remember mentionning millions of death, hehe, I'm no good with my speach in tense situations like these)
The Driver
"BLABLABLABLA-FUCK-OFF" and he goes at his buisness buying timber and god knows what.
His mate
"BLABLABLABLABLA-GO-BACK-TO-YOUR-OWN-COUNTRY-BLA-BLA-FUCK-OFF"So I fuck off then, I won't start a figh with 2 builders, I can't even express myself properly, I don't know how to figh, and it's not even my own country!
I go to work (just couple of streets away) feeling bad about this. The woman did not feel necessary to go to them, I went to them, sarted to argue, but no important message was said really, just disgracefull insults, at the end of the day, the cliche about white vans is stronger in me, and these guys hate cyclists and possibly foreigners even more now... FAIL.
I was an hour early at work this morning, so I have time. I leave my bag and bike at the office and go back to the builder's merchant.
I see the driver about to go back to his van, I go to him, and tells him that I am sorry about the way our little chat turned into a haters dialogue, that I understand that nothing constructive came out of this, and I strongly feel this is all very wrong: IT IS THE FIRST TIME IN 6 YEARS IN LONDON THAT I AM BEING TOLD TO GO BACK TO MY OWN COUNTRY.
He apologised straight away, I could see he was embarassed about the xenophobic words, it was not his words but his mate's and I could feel he does not necessarely approve (he had gone to the warehouse when his mate said that and probably did not hear). He said he was sorry he did not see the woman cycling (which of course is not an excuse, but you all know how rarely people recognize they made a mistake on the road - including cyclists). I think he was as unhappy as me things had gone this way: he offers to shake hands, he does not seem to hate me anymore, I don't hate him anymore, we could almost go to Vegas and get married!! WINI felt a lot better after...
Sorry if TLTR - Peace!

Well done Loic, nice to hear some sense spoken. Too often the angry words divide us from other road users even more. I hope your calm interaction afterwards will make the guy look out for cyclists a bit more.

Well done L. Nothing worse than leaving something like that in a haze of confusion and four-letter words. Once I had a run in with a guy on Westminster bridge, he cut me up bad on the approach roundabout, I kicked his car, he tried to run me off the road, pulled over and got out, we squared up, both furious, him not so good with english, me no such excuse, and had a conversation that went you nearly fucking killed me!/you kick my car/arrrgh that's not the point are you blind/fffuck you/fffffuck YOU/Bastard!/Fuck YOU BASTARD/YOU bastard!*/YOU *BASTARD! and then we did hardman staring for a few seconds, turned and went our seperate ways. Sorted.

i was meeting joegarcia and he got there 1st and when i turned up he was stood by a taxi and the driver was leaning out talking to him. so i assumed they'd had a run in and this was the aftermath row, and how awkward. turns out this old boy used to race as an under-16 and was talking about his first roadbike and all the frame builders that used to operate in london and stuff.
we were joking later that if any other cabbies saw him talking to us he'd have to break into angry abuse or they'd never let him ogle their Sun at the caff!
you are such a nice man vello. i am sure he would have offered to shake hands even if you were not holding your 'forget about it' behind your back.
well done to you for going back. have a super day brother.what? but Loic didn't go back to his own country as instructed. oh... i see

thought I'd share what happened to me on saturday with cunt of a white van man. I was cycling on my way to work from Walthamstow and has just turned onto Hoe Street. White van man then decided to drive right up my ass. He was not able to overtake and so decided to wind down the window and proceeded to call me a prick and to get off the road. I then made the mistake of telling him to fuck off....bad mistake. His passenger then opened a can of coke and began to chuck it all over me and then actually threw the can at me which thankfully missed. Couldn't actually believe the whole thing happened just because he couldn't overtake me and so frustrating that I didn't get his number plate. White van man cunt...

reped for giving surrender monkeys a good name
Saved my life today. well tried to... thought he was ramming me off the road and his passenger was shouting and waving his arm. I stopped and looked behind and a ambulance was caining towards us with lights on but no siren. WVM says "sorry mate, are you ok? stupid cnut could have had his siren on!"
I thought I was about to have to get bareknuckle!
