Bad luck, but at least you are unscathed.
Definitely get your bike checked out. Mosquito Bikes are not far from Upper Street on Essex Road.

Forgive me for seeming mercenary, but I smell some folding here....
Where there's blame, etc.

Could you do a drawing of the incident please. -

i think there should maybe be an injury minimum for a new thread, a graze would do but I'd feel like i'd got something for the time it took to read the post, just add some blood and a shit when you do your drawing

Hmmmmmm..... sorry, not even a graze to report. I did feel slightly bad for saying fuck to an old lady but that's not going to cut it, is it?

denny, read this thread just in case you haven't seen it yet:

You need to get any damage assessed by a bike shop to be able to claim for compensation.
I'm glad that you seem to have been lucky with police attending immediately and a co-operative perpetrator, and that you weren't injured, but just for the record--sometimes, you can notice injuries a while after the incident. Should you notice anything amiss later, make sure you see a doctor.

Hi,
I was cycyling up Upper St. towards H&I underground when a car coming in the opposite direction, and turning right, crashed into the side of me instead of waiting until I had passed!
I was knocked off my bike and landed on my arse.
Luckily a police van was in the queue behind the offending car and the policemen seen what happenened.
I am totally okay except for being a bit shaken up. I'm not so sure about my bike though. It has some scratches on the rear fork where the car hit and the whole wheel seems to have shifted over a bit. Could this be a symptom of something more serious?
I got all the neccasery contact details and the policemans id numbers. The lady has said she will pay for any damage. Do you think I should take the bike to a bike shop to get checked out properly?
Three months riding in London and cleaned out by a car, through no fault of my own, already! I guess I was very lucky that she wasn't going fast.
