  • I'm not a prolific poster but I love meeting, drinking and riding with people here. At the north drinks birthday several people mentioned rides long before I joined where people rode in fancy dress (monopoly ride?) and had a great time.

I'm a Yank and Halloween is a huge holiday in the States. This year it falls on a Saturday. Given London's famous London history, it seems like a full-on Halloween ride would be a shame to miss. I know it's 2 1/2 months away but maybe we can get some ideas of routes and themes to do and do it proper. I think it would be a hell of a lot of fun and would love to roll en masse in full costume with people here.

Any ideas/suggestions or interest in this?

  • Jack the ripper murder sites route?

  • This type of thing would be perfect. And have riders go full out as the ripper or as victims. London's history is ripe for this type of thing.

  • I'm up for this.

  • Start at Ben Crouch's pub they always have old horror movies playing.

  • I'd definitely come along...

  • I would definitely be up for this!

  • Great idea, providing my knee is in a fit state I'd be up for this.

  • Like the idea. Is this ride long enough tho?

Probably not - need to take in some other crime scenes - heres a list to get started with:

  • I like the idea if we ride like criminals....

  • Great, we're getting some ideas together. I think a Ripper ride would be far too short, that crime scene list might help. I'll look at that.

I'm thinking we could cover a fair amount of London with this. There's got to be a lot of places where bad things happened from the Tower to cemeteries, haunted places? I'm pretty sure we can pool all the ideas into a good ride. Fancy dress, prizes, who knows.

  • I'd be up for this, sounds like fun :)

  • this looks fun.
    i'm in.
maybe select a bunch of places from here to ride around - http://www.paranormaldatabase.com/london/lonpages/london.htm

  • Couple of years back we did a hallow'een ride hat went round lots of graveyards. It was epic - we even had dry ice to make crazy creepy effects with.

  • Get it on TV.

  • I am liking the graveyard idea. The paranormal database is very interesting but am worried that we'll pick a good haunted location and it ends up being a KFC.

  • Bump (in the night)

  • Tower of London would be a good place to stop, and that crypt they found under Tower Bridge.

    Interested?

  • Ooooh it's tough to chose between this and RPM ><

  • i'm too scared for this

  • i'm too scary for this

    True.

  • there are quite a lot of Halloween events already happening, polo, RPM night and of course the below.....maybe tie them in somehow?

  • Start at Ben Crouch's pub they always have old horror movies playing.

Closed now. It's an Adam and Eve gastropub. Scratch that off the list.

Prospect of Whitby to visit the Judge Jeffereys' Noose At 'The Prospect of Whitby' on Flickr - Photo Sharing!?

  • I'd still be keen to do a Halloween ride, especially a themed one. With the other events going on it might be hard to find people who still don't have plans.

I would really like to do a ride but it might get more of a response if we can tie it all together like Winston suggests.
