• Hey guys,
can you use Dura ace lockrings on Miche hubs

  • don't think so, which cog are you using?

  • nope you can't, those hubs are italian threaded.

  • Erm, ok il just go with a miche lockring then, god so many fucking standards, JIS, ISO, italian threads bloody hell xD

  • Miche lockrings are shit but there doesn't seem to be an alternative... Campag don't fit...

  • how are they shit? just so i know before skidding down a massive hill and then snapping the lockring and dying xD

there's one other alternative is the beefy Phil lockring.

it's not made out of metal, it's made out of your finest cheddar.

no it won't snap, like ed said it's made of cheese so you have to be careful when removing and replacing it as the ends tend to round off

  • Lol, hmm phil lockring goes and googles prices and will undoubted come back shocked

  • Phil lockrings aren't great either... I've rounded one of those bastards off too... Beautifully made but lethally sharp...

  • if you've rounded one of those lockring, did you not tighten the cog first before removing the lockring?

  • Shutup, Ed...

  • classic scoble

  • i think EAI lockrings are italian threaded?
    http://www.hubjub.co.uk/eai/eai.htm

  • spoke to hubjub some time ago, the eai won't fit either

  • aha thanks for that

  • man that sucks :/

    xD

  • do you think this would work?
a custom made lockring socket for Miche Primato lockrings, then use conventional 1/2" socket handle

and the important bit, the six hi-tensile steel pins to engage the lockring (seen in position). It is a snug fit,

  • @ rocker, they are not the best lock rings, but they are not bad, you just have to be careful when you fit them as you don't round the notches, although you do have 6 slots to use.

Spend the money you would spend on the new lockring on a decent lockring tool like the Hozan.

  • i've got two of these bought in error which are sitting in my toolbox, if anyone wants em give me a shout, ideally swap them for one that would fit the other type but if you ask really nicely i could be swayed.

Give away the miche, might have a spare DA you can have for free. I'll double check later.

  • IM SO UP FOR A FREE MICHE LOCKRING + il pay P&P ed . .. Pweeease :)
