£10-£15? You couldn't even buy a single rattle can for that price. But if the stories are true let us know.
To be honest i think Armortex is quite cheap. There are countless threads on this matter.
If you are going to rattle can it yourself, you still need to have to remove the headset & BB, and just mask the threads off.
However it's going to cost alot in nitromors, paint and clear coat to get a reasonably good finish & by that stage the price will be comparable to taking the frame somewhere & doing it professionally.

You must be having a laugh! Would you strip a frame and fork, powder coat them and bake it for a tenner? Maybe if you take the frame to down town Calcutta you might get closer to the price you're after......

I'm taking my frame to Vaz Cycles to get re-sprayed. Has any one used this guy before?

I've seen what cheap powdercoating looks like...
shite.
but then most people who are getting it done are all about the colour, and couldn't tell a decent paint finish if it came and bit their bollocks off.
cos it only matters as long as it matches with the deep section rims/rubber johnny grips/tyres/saddle and makes the bike look like your favourite Bichargi Uniplug

mc_nebula got his f&f done somewhere near Uxbridge for £35ish, finish wasn't as good as armourtex though.

a place near me (hull) will do any colour for 20 quid but i haven't seen the finish as i got mine done some where else. This is for a raw frame. I got mine for 25 in a colour that they run often, my frame was raw also

Calm down people, the £10 - £15 paintjob must have been Dov, that must have been back in the day though, but he will happily spray things for around £25 to £30 now. Costs more for his more elaborate work like the tartan-rainbow anodization he did on my forks. PM him.

not really, i think the cost will be around £20 to £25 - i'm halfway through stripping and repainting a frame myself - but it's a fucking chore, nitromors is nasty shit and i'd recommend just forking out the extra for a proper power job.

Thanks for the props.
I'm taking orders now for a spraying session this week.

what? small nitromors is £7-9 and clear coat £12-15 so before you've even painted your frame your budget is gone.
A sensible conclusion however

£3 for 500ml nitromors from wilkinsons. but yeah we were making the same point - just pay to get it done properly!

What would happen if one tried to powdercoat an anodized part?
I'm thinking about getting a run down in white, frame, stem and bars.
However the stem and bars are currently black- would this need to be removed by Armortex/me before coating it, and would this be a simple case of Armortex grit-blasting the parts?

I've had an anodized motorbike muffler powdercoated and it came out well and cost fuck all. Was in New Zealand though so don't know what the going rate is here. I'm not sure but I think anodized colour is still bare metal so doesn't require any additional prep.

this:
thats such a brilliant picture!
Yes I've seen the armourex thread but was looking for a cheaper alternative for powder coating. I've heard stories of £10-£15 for frames and forks.
The guy that I used to use for car and bike bits has recently died so now need to find someone else between Brighton London and Coventry.
What do I do about the threads in the in the BB and things like the headset
Thanks
(Or should I just rattle can matt black it)
