Undulating Chainring

  • My Campagnolo 53t chainring is very very slightly wavy at one point, I mean literally 0.5mm.

Will this provide me with any problems? I've read elsewhere they're easy to micro-adjust back into shape with a big spanner, but I'd rather not mess about with it if 0.5mm is trifling.

  • Alot of rings aren't 100% true I wouldn't worry about it.

Unless you mean the profile isn't straight like a biopace/rotor?

  • if its steel you can stick it in a vice and cold set it back flat again, i think there's some info on that on sheldonbrown.com. anything else I's leave well alone

  • you must have eyes like a fucking hawk to see it is out of true by 0.5mm ;-)
