something sounds plain wrong about this, Your Mercian should(will?) have English threads, did you check this out before fitting the unit ?

Nothing wrong with the threading in the frame, it is all right.
The strange thing is the OMAS BB, the adjustable side goes in on the right side and is left thread!

The right side of the frame is meant to be a left thread, that's normal. I'm sure Omas B/B's came with adjustable cups on both sides at one time.

I guess it will be impossible to source a left thread BSC BB lockring then?

How do I know what BB Thread my Bianchi Pista 2007 has?

italian has slightly different thread width, and also both sides of the bb thread the same way. Unusual to see it on anything but bespoke hand-made bicycles, or older italian road/track frames.
As the rookie I am I have just discovered a strange thing with my first build, on my OMAS BB.
The adjustable side (yeah the one I need a lockring for) goes in on the right side on my Frame (Mercian).
According to SB adjustable side is on left side and right thread and vice versa for right side. So I do need an English left thread BB lockring 1.370" x 24 BSC-S (what is the "S")
Is this just plain strange or am I missing out and being plain stupid?
