Can you change a 7 to 8 speed screw on block?

Hello,

Quick question, I have a pair of hope hubs with mavic rims, which have a 7 speed screw on rear cassette, can I change this for an 8 speed one, or is that going to mess the spacing up?

Should be ok. A 5 to a 7 wouldn't work, but a 7 to an 8 should be fine.

Thanks guys, much appreciated, will I need a campy block, or will any 8 speed one work, I have a campy record rear mech?
