  • Hi, up for sale is my beloved 52cm Makino frame. I had this frame for only a month, came straight from Kanagawa, Japan. Based in Bethnal Green, the bike only travelled around central London, and Herne Hill Velodrome was as far as it went. It is my only bike.. I use it as a transportation for almost everyday for the whole month. I have to say it is an extremely light frame, therefore, it rides VERY FAST! Words dont do justice, so viewing the bike in person would do a lot more than just justice!! track standing is the only trick(if it is a trick) i can do other than going really fast so the frame is in immaculate condition. There are a few chipped paints on the bottom of the down tube, forks, the rear dropouts, just the usual used condition.

The frame comes with a Hatta Swan NJS BB. Runs very nice and smooth. I was gonna split it but then when i brought it to 14bikes, they said the bottom bracket is done ceased to the frame.. So, i wouldnt consider splitting..

Bought the frame well over £800 not including customs entering the UK, and after using it, I want to share the experience of riding on this lovely frame. I am looking for £680 for it... All monies will fund a new project. Hopefully it'll be a lo pro.

    Really?

  • Really?

depending on the muscles on yer legs... YES!

  • i withdrew my first post but now can say it as everyone else has

    £$£$£$£$£$£$£
    in honour of roberto

  • £$€... Come now Julian, don't forget the mighty Euro...

  • i don't have a EUR sign on my keyboard otherwise it would have been there in abundance

  • Frame is in great condition(except for the locked-in bb - re-tap anyone?) but that is way too much for a common Japanese size of 50-55 cm.

I have seen many better bikes than that coming in from Japan between £300-£450 in more rare sizes, 57-60 cms.

    £$€ Indeed.

You should just keep it and ride it!
Seems pretty sad to make the trip out there, pay top £$€, get stung by customs and then have so little time with it.
Chances are you won't recoup your outlay.

  • As the frame was built in dedication of the keirin racer who rode 52cm frames, only sizes 52cm were made.. No. 1 and 2 can be found @ the NJS export website.. but again, theyre only in 52s...

I spent long days on the frame and have think about this very thorough.. What really made me decide to sell this was when I saw someone riding a Red Roberts Lo Pro @ Shoreditch... Made me want to try a Lo pro really bad
