Square taper or Octalink version?
-
• #6
Could supply either
-
• #7
Well the newer Octalink ones are over £200. Are you buying them or selling them?
-
• #8
Ah, you are Dave Whittle from SJS Cycles?
-
• #9
Would be selling I work for SJS Cycles, just trying to get some decent prices sorted on things you guys seem to lust after!
-
• #10
Right.. I've been in France and missed a lot of the SJS chatter. I thought maybe you'd found some cheap ones and wanted them and then it was more like you were gonna sell some and I got confuzzled.
Anyway the 7600 are around the £170 mark and the 7710 are around the £230 mark I think just doing a quick google.
I already have a cupboard full of new and used young and old ttrack cranks but I'm sure others will be keen to snap 'em up :)
Do you do discounts on SRM cranks? Powertap wheels? Qranq cranks? :)

I dont belive anyone stocks them, they are usualy drop shipped by the manufacturer, very little margin etc.

Always some excuse..

Quite! We are working on some of the suggestions so far in the suggestions thread, we will also be looking into more Surly, Miche, Stronglight etc Track stuff and of course lower pricing than RRP. Maxxis tyres are currently being explored as an option too as people seem to like them on here..

Surly Fixxers are useful for converting freewheel Powertaps to fixed. I have a source already though.
Surly Jethro Tules are great for 15mm nuts. I've carried mine everywhere for 3 years.
There's a bit of a boom in track land at the moment.. so you should do well. -

A decent price would be cool. Cyclestore is selling them for £190 which is just plain crazy.
144BCD DA chainring at a decent price would be cool. The jump by £25 everywhere is a bit hard to swallow and more than the 25% max predicted.

Actually cyclestore has the 7600 at £136
http://www.cyclestore.co.uk/productDetails.asp?productID=16644&categoryID=8917710 is £176
http://www.cyclestore.co.uk/productDetails.asp?productID=16661&categoryID=891That's odd.. they have the 7600 in their listings twice and the other one is £190

Actually cyclestore has the 7600 at £136
http://www.cyclestore.co.uk/productDetails.asp?productID=16644&categoryID=891Order it and you will get an email about how that is the incorrect price and that is less than trade price. They will then offer you them for £165 as a good will gesture.
I should know, I ordered a DA chainring and 165mm cranks from them two months ago at £136+50 for the chainring then two days later got an email telling me the pricing was all a big mistake. Then instantly updated the pricing.
(the ones you linked are the 170mm cranks)
-
• #18
Indeed £136 is less than trade!
-
• #19
Well that's funny because the cheap one is still there..
Unless they want hippy's small claims midgets on their arses I'd suggest they up-the-date their shit.
-
• #20
Tempted to buy it just for the arguing.. and I don't have that DA model.. hmm.. ;)
-
• #21
You are welcome to try. Like I say the best they would offer me was about £165 and that probably because I was buying a chainring as well.
Unless they specifically want to get rid of the 170mm cranks you'll probably end up with the same price.
-
• #22
They have covered it in their T's&C's "All prices and offers are subject to change and availability. Errors and omissions excepted. Subject to not selling below our cost price"
-
• #23
I didn't threaten to rubbish them on LFGSS though, you could try that as a tactic.
-
• #24
I'm pretty sure you don't have a leg to stand on with regards to mispriced stuff on the internet until they have actually taken your money.

You know what would be cool, is if you recommend a suitable BB for use with the chainset since there is so much confusion over the taper required. I happen to know the Stronglight JP400 110mm bottom bracket you see gives an almost perfect chainline. Just out by a fraction.
What price would you consider "good" be serious for a bare Dura-Ace track crankset?
