Hutch was building that when I visited to get my road bike fixed. It's delicious.
You could get an Adie basket and bracket - the bracket goes over the front axle and bolts through the basket. Not suited to quick release wheels I suppose but it will do fine with wheelnuts.

Is that Liam or Noel?
I've got my little Moser recently for weekend bike ride and shopping, however, I'm currently scratching my head off of finding a beautiful solution to put a nice wicker basket at the front.
I've research into different type of basket and different set up, but find most set up for the basket rather bulky. Also the height of the handle bar to the wheel is rather short, plus I do want to carry up to 3~4 kg of weight in the basket (if possible).
Anyone has any great idea, suggestion or DIY solution??
