anyone fancy bombing them with email/phone call requests to help?
-
• #6
yeah to be honest, no offence to the OP's intelligence, but i would never in a million years consider buying a bike from that website.

just claim a chargeback through your credit card/bank, they have to prove your got the thing usualy ends up in your favour.
Their ebay feedbacks seems pretty ok, couple of bad transactions but mostly good. -
• #8
Just get down there and cane someone shitless. And do the chargeback.

As stated in the other thread, I bought from them and was very satisfied.

I dunno, if they had the price I probably would.
They've got everything I would look for... a trusted 3rd party payment provider, phone and address details, realistic prices, etc.
The real problem is that so many bike websites look unprofessional and so it's hard to tell the shoddy ones apart. But on the basis of the things I normally look for, I'd do it... you can always chargeback a transaction.

I have to agree.

Get rid of that or whack it in private. Unless there is some serious wrong-doing on his behalf that's a little over that top.

It's perfectly fine I'm afraid.
Because none of the above is private information.
All of the information posted belongs to the DNS entry related to the domain.
Anyone who owns a domain knows their contact details will be available on the public web, and reproducing it here is no issue as that information is already replicated across hundreds of servers.
http://whois.net/whois/getmeabike.com
I agree it's unethical to disclose private data, but when anyone has already put their information into the public domain it's a non-issue to then re-iterate it... the person involved already has made it public.

+1
Private information is one thing, public information is another. If the domain owner didn't want it available to scum like us, he shouldn't have bought a domain and certainly should have been much more careful about his business practices.
-
• #21
... security consultant remember... not my fault he put his information in the public domain. Lesson to learn I'm afraid boys and girls.
-
• #22
Whilst it's all public information, that doesn't mean it's acceptable to dredge it up and encourge people to phone/boycott/whatever the buisness. Whilst my details are probably available I wouldn't like them attached to a "check out this cunt" thread. Unless this guy is wilfully stealing/blanking the OP over these bib shorts, I think it's a bit much. Over ht time frame has the shorts been AWOL? If it's a week, it could still be an innocent mistake.
Posted from phone so excuse errors - please don't smite me, oh VB the mighty.

and it takes nothing to click the button for £1 extra charge to have your info removed from DNS.
If you think I'm really out of order I'll be at wests tonight and we can have a chat :)
BTW that's not in invite for a fight lol

Many businesses are going under at the moment.
Seems a bit judgemental to just accuse them of being ripoff merchants. Perhaps the funds have been seized by liquidators, along with the stock.
Bad luck on losing the money though dander, I don't wish to sound unsympathetic.

Never been a better time to provide phenomenal service.
Not that I'm judging this situation, just saying there's massive opportunity to those who understand this.
Just wanted to post up to let everyone know not to buy from getmeabike.com.
I have sent money for a pair of Campag bib shorts and got nothing back. Sent emails, phoned them, now found out that there's a County Court Judgement on them. If you buy from them it's basically a gamble as to weather you'll get anything back.
Beware.
