This is my bike, artified since it was a crap quality mobile pic, and I have since leveled the bars horizontally as well, which looks better, but still, an idea:

just don't get the ones that are actually longer than the bike it's attached to
one guy at polo had a pair that were feet long it wasn't even possible to reach the ends while sitting with your nuts up by the stem

Definitely go for bullhorns, couldn't see me using anything but drops or bullhorns on my bike, only picked bullhorns because I was so used to riding on the hoods on m last bike it was the closest position I could get to it.

Got a pair of Profile Airwings and they're fantastic, only about £25 too when I got them:
