How to clean leather straps?

  • Does anyone know how to clean leather straps? The good (and bloody expensive) Toshi ones. Once white now an unattractive grey that doesn't match the rest of the hipster bling bling bike. Cheers.

  • Same way you would leather shoes

  • jif or cif should do it

    For fuck's sake... I fucking despair ...

send a PM to pistanator - he's bound to know

    Really bad idea.

You will never get them to be white again.

Leather should be cleaned with a very, very mild pure soap solution. White shoe polish would also be a good idea.

However, there really is no fucking point.

Exactly - that's what I said - pointless to the point of idiocy...

  • agree its a bit pointless. The question was more because they are double straps and one I forced through the pedals (with bit of oil, dirty hands, etc.) so that looks grey and messy and the other looks still brand new. Just my obsession with perfection. I know you guys will say mess up the other one as well but if someone has an idea let me know.

  • What would you know, you unfunny closet roadie you;-)

I know. I've just realised what an unfunny cunt I am. Thank God my Mum's sane though, eh?

Nothing will work. As a long shot, go to a re-upholsterer and see if he has any leather touch up colours. He will want you to remove them from the pedals, and back to square one. With a bit of riding they will all be shitty in no time anyway.

  • I thought it was Laxey...

  • Fixed in Laxey would be one seriously low gear.
