(and better phone music too)They are good people. Ethically run and in my experience the call-centre people are helpful.
The only draw-back I've found is that they don't have as many branches as the bigger banks.

Cahoot (abbey) - good internet bank (from my experience)
Suppose it depends on your banking needs ... -

Co-op. Been with them since 1994. I even have my mortgage with the co-op. I have a few accounts with Smile too. They're pretty good. You can deposit cheques at the Post Office too.

A velodrome is built for use in the Olympics. The radius of curvature of the surface is 20 m. At what angle should the surface be banked for cyclists moving at 18m/s? (choose an angle so that no frictional force is needed to keep the cyclists in their circular path. Large banking angles are used in velodromes.)

Always, always the co-op. The post office becomes your de facto bank, so a lack of branches isn't an issue.
Or smile if you fancy yourself a bit.

Queuing might be though....

The only time I ever need a branch is to deposit cheques and I hate queuing at the post office. Can I mail them to smile?
What about changing your address?

The following is an email i just sent to my bank.
"Algenon,
Thank you for your reply. The matter is not resolved to my satisfaction.
Referring me to the fine print is condescending at best.
I did not ask for justification of the banks fees and charges, I asked for the process for closing my account.
Your inability to answer a simple question further highlights that your service is a bit shit.
Cheers
Balki"Names have been change to protect the incompetent.

I'm with barclays. I quite like being with one of the few banks to turn a profit and not to take the taxpayers coin. I wouldn't bank with RBS who are a bunch of thieves with no financial nous whatsoever.
A friend who worked at Barclays tells me that John Varley helps in a soup kitchen at the weekends. -

But you pay a charge everytime you cash out right? So you keep a separate account somewhere else for cash when you need it? Or do you bite the dust and pay?
How do you find the user interface of Smile? Easy to manage multiple accounts? Tried to sign up to Smile years ago, the initial process was so messed up, with loads of hiccups and things going missing in the post more than once so decided to give them a miss. Could be things have improved now though.
Does anyone have any banks they want to recommend.
I'm thoroughly fucked off with Barclays, so its time to end my account there.
Useless bunch of absolute cunts.
