Maybe the forum could use the scientology model of information sharing ...
When you join the forum, you won't be able to see anything on the site except for a questionnaire in the nursery about your bicycle, the result of the survey will tell you that you require a fixed gear bicycle and you will need to pay a large sum of money for some basic books about fixed gear bicycles.
After paying some more cash you will be taught about some forum stuff and maybe GI. Once you invest enough money into the forum you will get to Fixed Gear Level III which is Oliver Schick level, then the next level from that is Hippy, Tynan and eventually Velocio who will reveal to you the beauty of lfgss database back-end and how this relates to fixed gear nirvana.

One Day One Destiny - Tom Cruise (FR English subs) on Vimeo
fuckinell...
hardly believe it myself but poncing around the threads late last night I ended up watching this.
I can't stand Cruise, I've always thought he was equal parts wanker and creep. first part of this doc is interesting as it shows how naive and vunerable he was as a young star and how open he was to manipulation - they try and build a case for him needing a father figure and turning to religion in early life to cope with a tough adolescence. However, against that is the fact he's been one of the most annoying cocks of the last fifty years so his total brainwashing by the head honchos of Scientology doesn't move me at all, just sort of confirms that he is one weird, smackable twat. Scientology is also confirmed here as being manipulative, mind-altering, predatory and self-serving: all characteristics demonstrated by the established religions at one time or another. The difference is that the creators of Scientology were astute in recognising that celebrities would influence some people much more effectively than appointed religious leaders..whatever, if you take your guidance for life from a Hollywood actor lotsa luck. So, back to basics: Cruise is a massive bell-end and it's fine by me if Scientology made him their poster-boy: I can't think of anyone I would listen to less for advice about religion, it's like voting Conservative cos Paul Daniels does.
It's a no-brainer that the Beckhams are being groomed to the max now.. seeing as they've already named their kid after Cruise you've got to figure they love it. Weirdos.

The best bit when he was awarded the innaugural scientology medal created just for him for whatever the fuck it was for.
His faux-honour/humility was BRILLIANT.

yeah, it's all very "Top Gun" isn't it? That's the problem with Cruise really - his emotional depth as a human doesn't go beyond the shit he cooked up as a jock actor for Top Gun.
did you ever see that Louis Theroux doc about the guy who was building a kind of business seminar cult? Steve something. The cobblers he came out with and the flannelling that his conventions were based on - that was hilarious too. Except for the fact he was getting rich off poor, desperate people.

What really sums up Scientology for me is this quote: "Rather than struggling over whether or not to label Scientology as a religion, I find it far more helpful to view it as a multifaceted transnational corporation, only one element of which is religious"
Simple. Dollar dollar bill y'all!
Watched it too. Cruise is a nutcase. Valkyrie sucked. -

is not an important question to compare the combined wealth of scientology and christianity and islam?

Have not seen it, 'jamas... but I do find LTs stuff interesting.
he was getting rich off poor, desperate people.
Thats the crux of it really.... no pun intended.

it's a corker from the era when Theroux was making interesting stuff off the back of his time with Michael Moore.. so much funny stuff in it but at the same time it's horrible watching

Another thing that pisses me off is the sect's attitude towards psychology/psychiatry while their idea of human personality is basically a re jiggle of Freudian theories mixed with various concepts of other major religions

I'll have a closer look...
Oh, I just remembered something else. Did you see him salute the Scientology leader????
FFS! That was AWESOME!

Oh Jesus! The other thing I forgot!!!
Im guessing no-one noticed Balki make a quick cameo??? About 5 mins in?
Nearly fell off my chair.
What about a scientologists subforum? We can all discuss cycling from a scientologists point of view and try to eliminate the thetans from our cycles...
What do people think?
Hail Xenu.
