Is it really possible that no oone knows? It seams like 122mm would do but not sure...

that sounds really wrong, try a 110 or 113 (and put the chainring on the inside)

they are one piece cranks so no play with the chainring. i just tried them with 118mm and it gives 38- 39mm chainline so it will b the 122mm that is needed. i am sure i saw some comments on the forum before but i just can't find any now :-)

On one bike i use a Sugino Maxy single chainset which was built to run off a a 121.5mm spindle on the old cup and cone BB's .. the spindle code was 3S (you can check Sheldon Brown for a BB size database) which had I think a 5.5mm asymmetry .. I don't know whether those cranks you have were made for the same BB but if they were then I have an unused NOS 3S spindle possibly even some used but good cond Shimano cups as well .. if you want to use a cartridge then just work off the answers you're getting from calculating the chainline from a known a spindle length and buy one with a longer spindle (just double check whether you have any asymmetry on the spindle you are using for the calc or the spindle you are purchasing with the 'correct' length) .. if you have any minor variation in chainline or if there is an asymmetry then you can use a spacer behind the fixed cup to shift it out slightly .. I have an unused UN54 68x122.5mm spindle somewhere as well .. good luck anyway!

Thanks guys
I just solved the issue.
Shimy 122.5mm = spot on :-)
Hi all,
Bought a pair of cheapo mighty cranks from ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=220420348710
I am now wondering which bottom bracket should give roughly 42mm chainline with them?
Any info gratefully appreciated :-)
