For Sale: Pimpin' BMX yo!

  • Chain snapped today, I went over the bars and grazed my knee, elbows and hip pretty badly. That's the final straw. I can't risk injuring myself on bikes anymore. If I can't work due to injury, I have no money to live on.

Everything is in mint condition, and the spec is spot on IMO. Rides beautifully, only damage is a scratched brake lever from going over the bars today.

    Spec as follows:
Deluxe XL in casselberry red. 21" toptube, very lightly ridden.
Odyssey race forks, powder coated satin black, look awesome.
United value bars 28" x 8" (I think) de-stickered and now with a deluxe sticker.
    Atilla Frontin' stem, black.
    Profile cranks, chrome 180mm
    Deluxe 30 tooth sprocket, black.
Atilla Slamdown pedals, black, still got all the pins, not been ground on etc.
Federal thin grips and bar ends
    Old style fit seatpost
    Odyssey Senior seat in black
Primo balance 7k series, black front, chrome rear.
Shaddow conspiracy belter tyres, skinny rear, fat front.
Pair of tubes with air in.
Odyssey mini brake lever in black, now with minor scratches :(
    AbikeCo. linear/slick cable, black.
    Hombre brake.
    Koolstop BMX black pads.
Odyssey stradle clamp, and spoke mod for straddle cable.
(I promise this is the nicest brake you will ever use!)
I'll put a brand new chain on there after snapping the KMC 410 and eating shit.
Profile rear hub, black, 10 tooth driver, awesome internals (loud and super smooth)
Mutiny double butted spokes in black, with 4 white primo spokes in the front wheel.
Bicycle union front hub, black (amazing bearings, spins forever)
    Profile spanish bb
I think there's a new united headset in it at the moment, but i'll have to check that.
I think that's everything for the spec, but if I've missed anything, please ask.

Here are some photos, but I'll get some more that show the spec better asap.

Looking for somewhere in the region of £650-£700, delivered to you.

The wheels are perfectly true (rear 4x and front 3x) everything is well maintained and perfectly smooth (I worked in a bike shop for 4 years etc), and it will be fully serviced again before the sale.

    Cheers

edit: I might consider swapping for another fixed wheel bike, preferably a lo-pro and some cash either way.

  • mmmmm so nice, wish i had the cash. let me know if you split. may be interested in the frame

  • Cheers. I'm going to try and avoid splitting if I can help it though. However, I'll keep you in mind if I do.

  • Fuck this shit. I am going to tell everyone that you are trying to rip them off with this just so you get back out on this beast. It is a fucking lovely bike. Dont sell it.

  • Harden the fuck up and carry on riding you [insert long list of abusive words here].

  • I know you're right, but I can't risk it any more. going to get back into the fixed riding again. little bit safer and more practical.

    Pfff, do both.

  • If only I could afford to keep this and get a sensible bike! I absolutely love BMX, been riding for years, but I just can't justify the damage I'm doing to myself anymore. It sucks a big one.

Attached is what happened to my elbow. It looks pretty unimpressive in the photo, but the dark bit is a fucking deep hole with gravel still coming out of it, 2 days later! Not cool. My knee and hip are both in a similar state, as are the palms of my hands. Hit the deck pretty hard! With all the broken bones and torn ligaments over the years too, this is the end of it!

Someone else will love the bike as much as I do!

  • Been there, I took a few years off BMXing when I got bored of the broken bones*.
    You'll be back.

*moved to uni and was permanently too drunk to ride

  • He can just do wheelies now on a fixed freestyle bike instead.

  • buy it

  • keep it! I sold my pimped out bmx and after about a year bought another one. it doesn't get ridden much atm with uni /gf, but its on the wall, ready to go!

  • I've sold and re-bought high spec BMXs so many times now, and lost so much money doing it, that I'm sick of it now. I don't have the time for it especially, and I hate hurting myself every time I ride. I know for sure this is teh end of BMXing for me forever now. Spend a lot more time sailing and taking photos than riding any way.

  • thats really nice

  • whats this straddle clamp / spoke mod that you speak of?

  • Instead of using a short length of cable as a straddle for the brake, I use a spoke bent into a 'U' shape, and barrel ends attached. Much stronger and springier than a normal straddle cable, giving the brake an awesome feel.

  • abump

  • Will now straight swap for a single speed cross country bike or track bike of equivalent spec.

Offer me anything, I'm getting desperate! Let me know.

You're so right, its like crack, i'm building up a 24 inch rigid SS street bike soon, my addiction needs feeding :p

  • Or you could just buy this one off me instead of building up a cruiser? Make me an offer on the whole thing and I'll deliver to London.

  • If your looking for that sort of money definitely part out
