  • just take the inside ring off a road chainset, it'll be 3/32nd" but if it's really small it's less likely to get bent by mallets so the difference in thickness ain't so much of an issue, if you get one out of a shops parts bin it should hardly cost a thing, i've been running one, a 38t, for the last few months with no problem, the chain is a bit noisier but actually not much worse.....

  • Will a 39 Shimano pressed jobby £3 @ Westies Thurs do you? Its very clean but not shiny PM if vaguely interested
