Mark, send Andreas at Brooks an email - PM Roxy for his address I guess.
Brooks are backing polo to the hilt and so it is totally within reason to expect your saddle to hold up to the strain. When my rail snapped at the ECMC Andrea replaced my saddle with no questions asked.

Yeah. They also have a 2 year warranty it seems. I bent it a bit back, and now its off centre and the right side of the saddle clamp pokes through the side of the saddle...
Anyway, roxy? Teddy? Help me?

This happened -
4 miles from home = walk
I can't find much evidence of Brooks rail fail but its happened to me** twice** (different saddle).
I am not heavy but I remember a worrying creak after an unavoidable pothole a few days before the break.I can't think what ,if anything , I'm doing wrong ...
Its been on the bike for about 3 years (?) averaging 100 miles a week commuting.

Had the same happen to me. Was told it's a tension thing. Even if it's not saggy, you still have to keep the tension quite high or else all the strain is on one point on the rail.

Hmmmm - thanks.
The saddle is on its way to Brooks for repair - £48 - I'll ask them about the tension thing. -

£48 is quite a lot for drilling out 4 rivets, slotting in a new chromo rail and popping 4 fresh new rivets on there. Guess it happens very rarely though!

I thought £48 was a lot when I expected around £37 which was the cost of the last Brooks rail replacement.
Bite the bullet time me thinks as a new Swift is now £119 + -

If I'd known that's all it cost I would have got mine fixed too - stupidly shelled out for a new one. Ah well...
So one of the rails on my stupid Brooks is bent. Is it safe to bend it back in to place? If so, any tips on the best way to do this?
Skully?
