Hopefully the Glastonbury festival should be on that weekend.
I'd be up for rolling to the stones, but might be in Italy for the Sportful GF, I'll see.
Hi all,
thought I'd throw it open, see if there's any takers this year; leaving Thurs 25th, 4.30ish afternoon from anywhere central London, heading due west, to Glastonbury. Planning to arrive at 2am if I make good time - or dawn if battered by headwinds, showers, and punctures.
I'm planning to borrow a Garmin this time, (so it'll be all about the pedalling not scratching round in the darkness and praying not to end up on the A303), riding a fairly strong but steady pace (81gi), route is 'relatively easy' with a few testing bumps at arounf 145 miles, and scheduled stops along the way including the delightful Stonehenge Services.
Last year I got mates to take my camping kit, but rode with everything I needed in event of it all going belly up at 2am, and had a nice rewarding pack ready for when I got there. Mostly cider.
Let me know if this looks appealing, be nice to have some company, other than the bored, lonely soldiers on Salisbury Plain.
Cheers!
