Bianchi Pista '08 BB Question

  • Hi All,

Have done around 300 miles on my bianchi pista so far and its been perfectly reliable. Unfortanetly the cog has just worked lose, which has now been tightened and there is a click which is comming from the BB.

The clicking sound is now getting worse and is happening at slow, easy riding speeds. I have removed the cranks and had a quick look at the BB, which seems to be greased nicely and doesnt have any play in.

2 questions - could this click be related to the crack tightness? and also are the Bianchi Pista BB's known to be solid and reliable? (otherwise i may replace this)

    Thanks

  • Possible loose cranks (v. bad). Have you checked chainring bolts?

  • I had the same problem on mine, just clean the whole thing i.e take the chainring off clean that, the bolts and the cranks, reassemble it and make sure its tight

  • I havent checked the chainring bolts, will do this tomorrow.

  • Well its now fixed!

Check all chainring bolts and they were fine. Check BB again and there was no problem here. Put cranks back on to BB and tightened, checked all other running components and they we ok also. Tightened everything up and it rides as new (well it practically is anyway!)

  • Good... This thread is now about bar snacks.

I am having Cumberland sausages on a mini loaf at the North Star. They are very good value for three and a half nuggets.
