  • Anyone out tonight? I was thinking of coming after work t meet a few people if antone's there...

  • what time does it meet, not been yet but have work until 7.30 in london bridge...

  • 6ish?

  • 6 outside Central Library. I should be there. I doubt you'll make it all the way from London Bridge......

  • im doing it! never have done and thought id give it a try, say hi if you see me, not sure il know many people

  • might join you for a beer or two...

  • Apparently water pistols are required........

  • i might pop down on my polo bike, only bike i've got at the mo!

  • Critical mass is a strange beast, in some ways I love it but I also find it hugely frustrating. Most of the people that get slowed down or held up are just normal joes trying to get where they are going, slowing them down for a bit with a huge mass of bikes misses the point to my mind, I mean most people don't even know why the hell all those bikes are there. The attitude of some of the riders also worries me, it's seen as a revenge against the motorist which is rather indiscriminate. Yes, the world would be a better place with more bikes and less cars but revenge is never a good motivation. Most of the folks are just their for the social, lots of the student types will doubtless be calling mummy this weekend to tell them they are now eco-bike-protest-swampy-wannabies and that's also cool.

I joined in for a while last night after I picked up my bike. I shot off for a blast on my own when the usual chaos ensued trying to get onto the dual carriage way. I think city centre is a better place to do it. I've spoken to a few bemused bystanders and explained what we were doing before now, something you just can't do on a quick road.

It's a painfully slow ride and being on a freewheel I couldn't even use it as a bit of leg training. Props to those that give up their time to not be the organiser(s) but I think the festival work does more to achieve the true aims of mass. I shouldn't complain tho, I met the GF on a mass ride last year so it does have a soft spot in my heart... ;-)

The true game of CM really is guessing which of her bikes Nes will be riding!!

  • I feel the same - I enjoy it for a bit but I'm not sure if it isn;'rt counter productive...

Anyhoo, I went the other way from the bridleway 'cause a lovely big bbq was awaiting!

    And another t'night me thinks!

  • tonight we will be handing out the new polo flyers and trying to get people interested, then after the ride playing polo in plattfields for people to have a go, meet you at the library at 6.00

  • oooh it's a shame you didn't let me know we have some after cm plans..that's a shitter.

  • Hmm, possibly in tonight. Depends how tired i am after work...
Anyone know what the weathers like for this evening.
If i'm there i'll be on a black and gold Merican, say hello!

  • oooh it's a shame you didn't let me know we have some after cm plans..that's a shitter.

dosnt matter we will either go play polo or do the after cm thing its cool

  • Assumed the BBQ would be in Platt fields after CM...? Which park you guys gonna be ending up at...? might not do the whole ride but might come down for the veggie bangers......

oooh it's a shame you didn't let me know we have some after cm plans..that's a shitter.

  • we were gonna have a bbq near mine as we can keep the stuff there easily without carrying it around on cm... and anna keeps getting told off because we are raucous in the park where she works (PFP) so she is an easy person for them to tell off...anyway it shall be in alexandra park where there is a bball court that is ALWAYS empty and so maybe you could play there for a change??? and then the two shall be combined!! yes yes??

  • ahh... all makes sense.. i'm not sure if i'm gonna play polo, my bike seems to be self destructing and i've not had a chance to do anything with it since last night.... but whether we play or not it's worth flyering CM......

  • absolutely!!!

  • how many should i print do you recon

  • hmm... dunno... we'll still have to cut them up won't we.... maybe just print 25 sheets...? 100 flyers...? we could get some more done properly at MARC for a few quid, onto card & cut up.... but for tonight we only need a few....

  • i can cut them here, we have a guilotine, might do them on colored paper too
il do like 30 sheets and meet you at 6 yeah?

  • Yeah cool... not gonna be on my polo bike tonight cos the crank bolts are chewing into the Aluminium chainstays.... not a good look.... need to do a bit of a service at the weekend.....

  • Bump for tonight's mass...

    Who's going?

  • to manchester?

  • Eh? No! London! This in the manchester thread?

I just found the first thread that came up that wasn;t 'CM may 09' or whatever. Too many CM threads.
