be on blue cat (check bournemouth and poole thread if you like to see peoples bikes)hmmm. not being rude but why don't you organize your own separate event. it really, really pisses me off that people hijack CM with their own political agendas.
i want to attend CM without people thinking i (or the event in itself actually) support climate change or freeing tibet or whatever else. -

I voted with my feet and just don't bother going any more. I drop by the start (I work on Southbank) and occasionally have a pint or two with some familiar faces but then I disappear before it heads off.
More recently I've been getting trains to various Audaxes on the Friday night and unable to even do the above.

fair comment, Ive been going to c.mass for ages, the way i look at it is that many of these actions are coalescing towards action on climate change. If you personally dont believe that riding a bike has anything to do with that then all good.
Wheres the harm in more people on bikes? we all have our own reasons, noone owns it, no one can really predict it, its a carnival, thats the object of the mass as far as I can see. -

I'll be there too, grey woodrup, pls say hello.

it's not saying it's not a worthy cause, i'm saying that it's not for you or anyone else to make the choice to attach their political belief to an event that is just about riding your bike. and i think it probably puts off a lot of people either joining in themselves or at least being civil on the roads that people because it just gives the whole thing this big stupid liberal, hippy agenda. i don't want people thinking that i 'vote green' or 'free tibet' or want prisons scrapped etc etc just because i'm riding my bike.
saying everyone has their own reasons is stupid too because if your 'reasons' are anything other than 'i really like riding my bike' then you shouldn't be there.
sorry, i don't like being a dick but it totally winds me up -

It is part and parcel of Critical Mass that these arguments are always had. If you participate in them, then you've bought into the idea, even if you think you're against it, whether you want to or not. :)

I am keen, will try to head there straight after work. Where in the park is the band shell where everyone is meeting?

Really? The one I got via Facebooks says "Bring you bikes on down to Vic Park bandshell at 6:30. Ride leaves by 7pm. Route tba or help us decide on the group page!"
Is there more than one ride?
