Sorry to hear about your accident. Hope you are healing quickly and fully. Look for the Highway code for a full descriptin but generally none must not overtake nor park within zigzags which are usually near zebra crossings or pelican crossings.

Sorry to hear that mate- are you the guy who got taken off next to the Duke pub?
The staff were talking about it, they may have seen something.
I know that one of the staff was talking to the ambulance chap.
BTW that area has been a grinding nightmare since the A2 Eastbound was closed- loads of near misses.

Your map link is very vague. Can you be a bit more specific as to location.

Sorry to hear the bad news... Hope you recover fully very soon!

When you zoom in to his link you get these chevrons:
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?source=ig&hl=en&q=creek+road+se8&ie=UTF8&ll=51.480967,-0.021066&spn=0.000311,0.00066&t=h&z=21Within the law, what if the traffic is stopped in the zig zags? Can you overtake legally if the traffic is not moving?
Get well soon by the way!

[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif][SIZE=2]**167: **You MUST NOT park on a crossing or in the area covered by the zig-zag lines. You MUST NOT overtake the moving vehicle nearest the crossing or the vehicle nearest the crossing which has stopped to give way to pedestrians.
got this info from http://www.ukmotorists.com/highway%20code6.asp#start
I did not know either.

I got hit by a car Tuesday evening and me and the Steamroller are smashed up. I 'm stuck here at home now trying (through the haze of fatigue and meds) to sort out what to do next or rather what first. I'm gathering as much info as possible but just cant find out what these zig zag lines mean in the road - here http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?source=ig&hl=en&rlz=&q=creek%20road%20se8&cr=countryUK%7CcountryGB&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wl
In context of the image above;
If the car is exiting the side road (either) and turning right meaning that it crosses your onward path then it has breached your legal right of way. The zig zag lines are only to denote areas where you cannot park or overtake (in order to preserve the safety of the crossing) and are not relevant to your accident.

Sorry to hear that sir - heal up, and tell the full story if you can bear it.

At home time that entire road becomes a ribbon of pissed off stationary drivers, what normally happens is that someone will gun it out of Gonson street to turn right when another driver flashes them etc.
The issue is that unless you (in the car) creep forwards slowly you cannot see cyclists due to the street cabinet/bollard thing that gets in the way. So if you don't look and just put your foot down like a twat you can end up with a surprised cyclist slamming into the right handside of the car/going over the bonnet.
Which is what I am guessing happened here- driver did not look, or if they did decided not to give way to a cyclist, with obvious results.
How close am I not4sale?

I actually slammed into and over the car from the drivers side because he turned right into Gonson street. From what I can remember he was indicating right but just continued and swung in front of me at the last second leaving me no escape route.

So he was heading West, away from Greenwich?
That's the classic "well the guy in the car has flashed me so nothing else can be coming" from the driver of the car that pulled out on you.
Sorry to hear that mate- heal fast.
