No experience. But sounds fine imo. You could probably even carry on the wheels, and sit with them between your legs. Doubt a drivers gonna give a shit.

Myself and James Brown went to Paris for a tourney a few weeks ago on National Express.
If you have a proper bike bag it counts as one suitcase. Not a problem but always worth a quick call ahead to double check.

I've been from Leeds to East Midlands airport on a national express coach, with a downhill bike in a box. I just had to call and book it. They were fine about it - although they did state beforehand that I had to remove my pedals... haha

The storage cabins on those coaches are absolutley huge. Ive stuck a bike frame & forks in their with no prior arrangement, it was fine. I reckon a full bike partially dismantled bike would be fine even without a bag.

there was a CTC article on this in their magazine a while back. seems it's ok, although at the driver's discretion

had an unexpected bus replacement service from birm on Monday. They gave me a funny look as I rolled up, but I countered by saying that it would fit on a train so...
Bloke shrugged and put the whole thing in down the side. Just down to the driver, I guess. Be nice.

I've taken a bike on the coach up to Glasgow.
It was fine but fuck me, I never want to carry a bike bag from brixton to victoria, then all the way up sauchiehaul street ever again. Worst idea ever.
I bought one of those cars with wheels on at john lewis in glasgow, before that it was sheer hell and took 2 people to carry (I had a bike and clothes etc in this one bag).
With the wheels it was fine for about 500 metres, then the fucking thing kept toppling over because it was so top-heavy.
My advice, it's possible, but make sure you have a decent bike bag or transport becomes very very unhappy!
Oh, and alexm, you've stolen my name, you bastard!

Shit, forgot about this thread, thanks for all the replies people!
Anyway, for future reference, it went fine.
Bike bag + big storage cabins = no problem.

Hi everyone!
Somebody been to Budapest (Not Bucharest) with national express or known'd as the eurolines coach with a bike like mine. Woodoo bizango?
Hey,
I'm going to Edinburgh on a National Express Coach and I want to bring my bike. According to their site, I'm not allowed to my bike on the bus, although I am allowed to bring two twenty kilo suitcases!!
Bike bag do the job? Anyone any experience doing this?
Cheers!
