Wanted: Front caliper, bolt fitting

Posted on
  • hi there, looking for a bolt fitting front brake caliper for an old claud butler frame with 27" wheels. anyone got anything like this?

  • Drill the backside of the front fork with 8mm drill and you can use a "standard" brake with allen-key nut.
    Or do I misunderstand ?

  • i'd rather not drill the fork, but thanks for the advice.

  • Clear ;-)

  • I have a pair of 1979 weinmann vainqueur centre pull brakes (one is model 610 the other is 750) of an old Claud Butler with 27" wheels. Complete with straddle cables, yokes and a front cable hanger (and levers if needed). let me know if this is of any use.

  • hi paul, how much you looking for without the levers? and would you sell just the front?

    cheers,

    steven

  • Happy just to sell the front, without lever. Does £5 sound OK? Do you want the cable hanger as well?

Is it the 610 or the 750 you're after? I would assume it's the 610 (that's what was on the front of my daughter's CB with the original 27" wheel) but let me know.

    Paul

  • hey paul, 5 pounds sounds good with the cable hanger. I'll take the 610 but not sure what the difference is. You happy to post to glasgow, i,ll pay the postage. Cheers mate,
