They are, its all up on the site with the broken headers http://www.hernehillvelodrome.com/whats-on/derny-paced-track-training
I take it your not entering the Madison next Monday?!

Thanks JC
no Madison for me... I'll be around on the day but won't be riding.

Might give this a go if the league is rained off tomorrow.

Hope it doesn't rain tonight but it looks like its going to so doubt the league is on, so it looks like its Derny training for me as well..I enjoyed it last week. Wasn't expecting the smoke from the bikes though. Ahh the smell of two strokes...

I'm up for this now. Was the smoke really that bad?
And how fast were they, the hernehill web site says its split into ability groups for 15 min sessions. I'm hoping it'll be good training for the 20k scratch races. -

Smokes not two bad, but you do notice it at first..You can go on Slow , medium and Fast derny.. Think you would be fine to go on a practice run and then straight onto the fast.. There are two fast and most go on these..I was ok on the medium but it just doesnt really get going...You are not allowed to change dernys while its running...

Let us know how it goes Tom. Would like to try some derny riding one week.
League was on last night after all and i actually got a couple of points without some of you guys there :-)

I will report back after tonight!
Is that you, James S.?

I'm going to try to come to this tonight. I went a few weeks ago, it was good! I went in the medium group and it was fine, I would consider trying the fast group but my gearing is a bit low. I didn't find the smoke bad at all - I was too busy admiring how the derny rider had co-ordinated both his macintosh and his trainers to the canary yellow of his bike.

I was blagging james last night to join the throng so it probably is. If so, welcome! Was cool to meet a fellow Lee-er.
-

Yup. Sorry for not introducing self. Am indeed James S.
Hope tonight goes well guys. See you at the weekend.

• #13
Who went and how was it? I was way too tired so didnt go.

Really enjoyable, and good training. Glad I went as its another option if work or weather get in the way of other training nights or Wednesday league.
I went in the medium group which got surprisingly fast. You really notice the speed when you go up past the derny to drop to the back. The wind suddenly hits you. Good training for the endurance events.
My legs were satisfyingly achy when I got home! -

Anyone going down tonight?

Anyone going down tonight?
Well I'm going out on the lash with the boys tonight, but hopefully things won't take a turn that way again after last time.

• #17
Blimey, down Old Compton st was it?
-
• #18
Oh dear.
I have unfortunately got a report to finish for tomorrow which is looking like it will take an infinite amount of time to finish so prob won't be down.
Missing wed and today is crap. I am so full of energy and massively looking forwards to the weekend! It had better not rain!!!!
Have fun

Just knock one out in the **lockup **first.
I believe the correct term is 'Dave's House'
As in
'You're in my house now boy'

I am planning on attending. It rained yesterday just as I got there so everyone else's non-attendence was a good plan.

Hmm. Finally home time. Think i might have missed the derny session.
Anyone know if the Herne Hill Derny Training sessions are running and if so what time they start?
I'm back on the bike from this week after fracturing my wrist and need to do some catch up work on my training...
:-)
