Fucking lame.

For the record we also saw some pretty unsportsmanlike behaviour in Oxford at the weekend. Time for refs to actually enforce DBAD.
-
• #4
yeah there is a debate raging about this video on hardcourtbikepolo.com
I think it sucks. I'd have done a "mike" on the guy if I'd been the goalie. Or at least retaliated by making him fall, instead of rushing to tap out.
-
• #5
so if you take it in your own hands and level that guy. just so he has to tap out. then it's fair?
-
• #6
oo hes just missed a rear wheel sitter. WAC

Speaking of records: For the record: I blocked someone from stopping a goal that was slowly rolling towards the net on Sunday. I put my arm in front of him and just dragged him. I'm pretty sure that's a bit off colour, and I could have just used my shoulder or barged him out of the way, but it was just a throw-in and it made me laugh. Foul?

The reffing at Oxford was terrible or, perhaps more accurate, non-existent.

speaking with the records, as a record i say its give as good as you get, but no use od hands - forearms, elbows, knees.. teeth.. but no hands

Can't look at flickr... so I've no idea what you are talking about?
But I do think that the DBAD rule is completely ineffective.
-
• #11
Lame indeed, I will be more than upset is this happen to me while in goal
-
• #12
What's the DBAD rule?
-
• #13
That is totally uncool, there are loads of issues that still need to be ironed out and decided on in the rule book but it's clear to anyone that that move was way over the line.
DBAD: Don't Be A Dick
-
• #14
Yes, DBAD is not a rule, more something to bear in mind whilst playing.
We wouldn't need more rules if there was less dickish behaviour.
-
• #15
how do i know when im not or am being a dick?
-
• #16
impossible to tell.
polo.
-
• #17
so, where do we find good refs?
-
• #18
the actions on that video is like kicking the goalie of a football team in the nuts putting him out of play and leaving the goal open. in the football scenario, the player that had kicked the nuts of the goalie would likely be sent off. if the football goalie had kicked himself in the nuts (or in polo, falling off by his own poor balance as i did on a number of occasions at oxford), then it's his own fault innit.
-
• #19
this is not football my friend.
-
• #20
so you're allowed to be a cunt on the polo court, but not in any other form of organised sport?
-
• #21
ice hockey?
-
• #22
aussie rules?
-
• #23
so a player out of play (i.e. not in possession of the ball) in ice hockey is allowed to barge the goalie knocking him over? didn't know that!
-
• #24
theres rules that every player plays by... the line that these players go by are very different in different places. ie. the ground rules are fundamental but are still broken on court, the job of the ref is to enforce fair and decent play. The refs role is very very hard.
-
• #25
i've yet to see a ref really enforce any rules.
... this (at 00:10) is not allowed.
