Devon to Morocco will be amazing. I was going to do London to Gibraltar this summer but, instead, have decided to cycle to Dubrovnik.
Last year I did London to Rome and used one of these...
(the older one with the disc lock)... Was a serious hassle to carry, but, secure. Will be interested to see what people throw up here.

bit of string tied around the big toe, other end around front wheel of bike.

check with your insurance. mine specifically says that if i'm camping i have to bring my bike into my tent or secure it to a metal post or it isn't insured.
you'll probably also get away with a lighter u-lock. people outside london aren't as thievey as you're used to.

its Toby Forte and his girlfriend.
Toby is a legend.
I'd fully recommend getting hold of one of the alarmed D locks. They're a little larger than a Kryptonite Mini Evo but loud as fuck and plenty solid too.

just do what em says, one of those alarm locks, you won't need anything too big or strong as they'll be sleeping next too them.

Here is the info about the trip:
Full info below:
MISSION MOROCCO
On June 6th Toby Forte and Jess Jackman will be setting off from Devon, UK on an epic cycling adventure to Morocco, North Africa. They will be navigating their way and carrying all their equipment, whilst covering an average of 75 miles per day
The aim of the challenge is to raise funds and awareness for two very worthy causes.STEPHEN MURRAY FUND
In 2007, professional BMXer Stephen Murray suffered a catastrophic fall attempting a double back flip at the Dew Action Sports Tour, Baltimore. He suffered severe spinal injuries and is now paralyzed below the neck, however, continued support from family and friends have encouraged his positive attitude and it is essential we continue to support his cause. Please quote 'MISSION MOROCCO' with every donationSOS CHILDREN'S VILLAGES
SOS Children's Villages are a charity who aid orphans across the world by providing them with a place to live, medical facilities, and an education. These are all things we take for granted at home, but will make a world of difference to these children. On arrival in Morocco, we will be visiting one of the orphanages in Dar Bouazza to see firsthand the difference our fundraising can make. To make a donation please visit http://www.justgiving.com/missionmorocco2009These are both amazing causes, and we have set ourselves a savage challenge, so please give generously. All donations go directly to the charities. We can make a difference! Thank you

Two very worthy causes indeed, I wish them the best of luck and hope that they have an amazing time along the way!

When I cycled across Canada I took a OnGuard mini D and a Kryptonite Cable. My girlfriend carried a simple cable lock. Light enough for a long trip and should be enough to deter anything but the most determined bike thief, particularly as their unlikely to try to steal a bike from right outside the tent the owner is sleeping in. Also, you tend to find in Europe at least that people generally respect the sanctity of the campsite.

If the world of youtube is to be believed you can pretty easily twist them apart, and indeed they are an awful inpractical shape.
I go for the small alarmed lock option. One alarmed mini-d around wheel and frame (hopefully clearances would allow this) and just some thin rubbish long cable to wrap the remaining wheel and frame around a tree etc. Keep the bikes close to the tent, and do the toe string thing.

A friend and his girlfriend are riding from Devon to Morocco to raise money for charity. Those of you who ride BMXs may know him actually - its Toby Forte and his girlfriend.
Anyway, they need a recommendation of a really lightweight lock as they'll be leaving their bikes outside the tent and if they were nicked it would be a disaster.
I'm gonna suggest pitlocks for a start but does anyone know of any good lightweight locks?
