  • *Ted and i are coming to your fair town on Friday. i was wondering if you lot might be interested in meeting up with us and if anyone has a 58 /60 cm road bike or a brompton that our friend could borrow for a few hours?

    Jacqui and Ted

PM Me - much love!! See you Friday*

  • Probably worth sticking a post in here as well: http://www.londonfgss.com/forum26.html

Ted as in the super-tedster eh? If so has he built his charge up yet the lazy git!

  • super ted coming to brumminghaaam, no way!

in terms of a bike to borrow, I dont have anything that big/functioning. If you cant find a person to lend you a bike, it might be worth asking sprocket cycles - a small independent shop.

Has a sound owner called adrian, and the shop sells a lot of recycled bikes (some only around £40) as well as small selection of road/track/commuter bits. I know that hes had a second hand 58/60cm road bike outside his shop for sale for at least a year. If you asked niceley/give him a deposit im sure hed lend it to you.

  • What time you about in Birmingham? May take a trip in Friday after work if you'll still be about.

  • really need to make a trip back up to the mids and have a shred about brum sometime

  • i'm around brum on thurs and sat this week too if anyone fancies a cheeky pint, not sure if i have time for a ride though

  • hey you guys, we are actually coming NEXT friday. My bad ;(

  • so i am finally coming up. hopefully the weather will be in our favour. fingers crossed.

  • Yo Jacqui. I've been carrying a tube around for you for ever, I don't see you no more, what gives?!

    When are you coming?

  • Man I wish I was coming up this weekend, it's my mates birthday and they're having a BBQ which always turns into a party of the highest quality.

  • "yo Birmingham" sounds like the kind of thing a dumb Canadian rock musician like Alanis Morrisette would shout when playing in Plymouth!

  • ^Git ;)

  • Jacqui is used to it from me

  • i am indeed used to the dancing fool making fun of my canadian ways. Whatever. You'll get yours james, you wait. I'll spit in your gingerbeer!!! lol

but seriously: Came to Birmingham Saturday past and it was great to meet Pista boy and DFP.
We (ted, myself and some awesome others) on saturday to do the ride.
Ted and I will be there Friday afternoon. We'd really like to meet as many of you as possible! Plus we have room for one more fine chap or chappette chaperone to come out on the ride with us if any of you are interested.
There are two parts to the ride we are doing, New Street to Smethwick, then Smethwick to Blackwell Court. The later is a bit hilly..but doable.

PS. Ted is not Super Ted, sorry to disapoint. Although this Ted is pretty Super too... ;)

Have you recovered from the hypothermia yet?

Im still cant shake the sensation of being drenched in water, its like Ive been deep sea diving for a week.

It was so incredibly different when I did the reccy with jaqui when it was the hottest day of the year. Im glad everyone still seemed to enjoy it, much respect for everyones 'ard as nails attitude. :)

    Get some pics up MrSmith!

  • nice to meet DFP and Pistaboy, oh and Addie of course. cheers for all the hardwork Jacqui and Teddy. despite the weather that was still a lot of fun, and educational too. thanks for looking after all of us soggy bottomed boys and girls.
