It always seemed natural to go left shoulder for me but then I also have a smashed up collarbone on the right that isn't compatible with straps.

i have a left strap bag and i can't see much behind to my left side. I presume its the same with the right.

The pac bags have a very, very good second strap, so I wouldn't think it would matter what swing they are. They are very, very close to a back pack in terms of weight distrobution. I love mine. And so does my back.
