I had some Sloe Ale yesterday, delicious. Fruity and refreshing, but not sweet.

For so many years I have cycled down Layhams Road to escape into the countryside and only really felt I had succeeded once I was South of the A25. Today three of us went as far as the last suburban house on the left and walked across the fields to Nash. We picked about 3lbs of sloes in half an hour and came home. Methinks the coming winter will be cheered by plenty of sloe gin.

I started some mulberry vodka a couple of weeks ago. My parents have a mulberry tree and they always have no idea what to do with them.
It already looks and smells pretty good, and the tree is still cropping, so I'll probably do some more this weekend. They also have a very good crop of damsons still going....
Mulberries are complete buggers to pick though, the ripe ones fall off the tree as soon as you start jogging the branches about. You pretty soon get covered in bright red juice, which is really bad for staining clothes. -

That’s a good idea, I’ve got so much rhubarb I don’t know what to do with it! Rhubarb and ginger jam going on later.

Yeah there's only so much stewed rhubarb can be eaten...
This is the recipe I used except allowing the sugar & rhubarb to hang out for a day first... https://everydaycooks.co.uk/rhubarb-gin/
It's looking like this already so ready to add Gin shortly instead of waiting overnight now.

The other day I started making a gin and tonic then realised I was out of tonic. I did however have a can of gin and tonic, so I made gin and gin and tonic.
