See those grey lines through Hyde Park? There's one that goes North South so you can avoid the roads.

Albion Street Entrance / Exhibition Rd exit
or, as Hippy says, The North-South Broadwalk at the Western end of the park.

or to avoid completely you can go via shaftesbury ave, trafalgar sq, the mall and then through belgrave sq towards pont street

Sod the Broadwalk, only any good at rush hour (when the mass of cyclists dominates the "cycle lanes") if then. Seymore Street over Edgeware Road and drop down Albion Street. West along the North Carriageway and follow around to Exhibition Road. I don't have a problem with HPC, it's the nonsense on Marble Arch corner that I hate.

Go along the canal till you come to the ped bridge with the ramp doubling back to your left, just after you go under 2 rail bridges. About 1.5 miles - easier to see than explain.
Across the bridge, leave the canal and go through the estate, turn left and follow road out.
Straight across takes you onto Harewood Ave. Left onto Marylebone Road, right downSeymour Place. Left and Right at the end spits you out on Marble Arch.
Options here. I go down Park Lane a bit, then hang right into HP and down the Boardwalk. Traffic can be frisky.
Or go straight across, under the Arch itself, wait for decent lights to cross the other side and filter into HP along North Carriage Drive.Follow round then shoot down Exhibition rd.
or finish with TSK's bit.

I generally agree. Maybe because I wasn't in normal cycling clothing and didn't have my spd shoes I felt a bit less confident. I managed HPC ok, but it wasn't lovely. Maybe I just need to do it a few more times.
On the way back I went underneath, and onto Piccadilly, which was fine.
Is there a way around HPC without having to go all the way round, with attendant lane changing a mad taxi-driver dodging? ie could one sort of go right rather than left, and head to Knightsbridge that way?

absolutely. draft a bus up the road and you'll get there in half the time you'd take going though the park.

You can get into Hyde Park on the northern edge of HPC, rather than going through the underpass. Then ride straight up the broadwalk inside the park until you get to the cyclist lights leading towards Grosvenor Square. Head towards Grosvenor Square & the first left after Park Lane leads onto Gloscester Place & Regents Park.
Best thing about HPC on the bike is being able to cycle through the Arch, cutting through the centre of the whole mess.

This is the route through the park I take...

It's great in winter when it's clear but recently it's becoming a nightmare. Nearly got taken out this morning by an oncoming roadie who suddenly appeared from behind a wobbling nodder, had to do a quick swerve off the cycle path or it would have been messy. I'm starting to fancy taking my chances with the agro taxi drives at HPC.

I needed to get to Brompton Road, from Camden. I went through Regents Park, then ended up heading over towards Park Lane and having to go around HPC which wasn't ever so lovely.
Is it possible to cycle through / around Hyde Park? How do you get in / out? Or is there a better way?
I've got to do it again today, so advice much needed.
