West "Let The Good Times" Roll Friday

Following on from the joy of joining the Friday lunchtime roll last week, I am trying to get one going out West.

The plan is, meet in the main courtyard of the BBC Media Village (map) at 1:30pm tomorrow and go for a little roll around the area.

I think we've got interest from the following so far:

mashton, cornelius, tika, graesy slag, spaghettihoops, pajamas.

Come along and join us; the more the merrier.

It is. And yes, feeling good. Ten days off then start the new job on the 11th.

yo yo ..I'm out unless someone can gently explain how i get to meet youze from the wrong side and end of westway... I'm coming from the Harrow Road end... any ideas? I've a feeling I'm out due to how long it would take to get over to the start place.. let me know if it's possible..

the courtyard is a public place, easily accessible off wood lane or south africa rd. just zoom out on the map and change from satellite view.

I rode over the A40 westway yesterday. We could do that ;-)

You're not allowed to skitch a ride off a lorry on the A40... Cirsh Carsh has the ticket to prove it...

The slip way up from Wood Lane to the roundabout has a 'no bikes' sign, but the westway itself doesn't seem to. Odd.

I stuck in the hard shoulder and it was hunkey dorey. At one point there was a police car parked ni the hard shoulder with a copper standing behind it. I thought he was gonna tell me off but he actually waved cars over into the outside lane so that i could pass safely. then he gave me a cheery wave and a smile. nice chap.

i wouldn't recommend it for general use, it's a bit bleak and i imagine it can be very windy. However, it was bloody quick. I managed to knock about 20% off the old commute time by doing it yesterday, on gears.

I get off work at noon on Friday and I'm not so far away from the Beeb. What are we talking here - gentle bimble or madarsed alleycat?
