yeah, i wear guards on both wrists. it's fine the play with them on. The left hand guard has a loop around the thumb which can be uncomfortable at first, I wear it outside my glove to stop it digging into my hand so much.

Ooh, specific guards for left and right hands. Look at you!

If anyone wants a pair I've got some knocking around from a snowboarding trip years ago.

I went through a spell of a couple of weeks constantly falling on my right wrist. It still hurts sometimes and I've been meaning to invest in some wristguards. I was thinking about getting some cheap in-lining ones (with the big piece of metal bulging out the front) but I wasn't sure how much this would limit movement in the mallet hand. Those ones look a lot more suitable. Have you had any bad falls on them? Do they hold up well?

Nice one cheers for the info gabes.
Andyp: What type are they (finger loop on them?) If you could find a photo of something similar that would be great. I might be interested in taking them off your hands.

I've got a standard skate/board one for the non mallet hand, definitely need one for the mallet hand as that is a right arse if you keep hurting it

I keep on falling on my mallet hand so I think the first one Gabes posted will be best. I can imagine that the other type will be quite restricting.

I have seen Gabes play. I can vouch that they have been vigorously tested :)

How about an HTFU guard?

See the attached photo. I bought them in Canada about ten years ago and they were great for snowboarding. They do have a very simple thumb loop, hopefully you can see it in the pic.

I've helped him test them by repeatedly running him into the ground/wall/other people. -

I often wonder when Gabes is going to stop testing his pads and start playing polo.

After looking about a bit that first 661 guard seems to be the best, I'm guessing that the metal strip along the inside of the wrist that appears in most guards would be pretty restrictive for the mallet hand.

Point of order - plagiarist, aren't those *red *blood cells?
White blood cells are the ones that offer protection?
I fell on my wrist pretty bad last night and I can see this happening again and again. Does anyone play with a wrist guard? How easy is it to ride/play with one on?
