If only someone would develop some sort of internet movie data base. eh?
If they could make it searchable that would save a lot of frustration too...

I watched what turned out to be about half an hour of it on video once when I was living in Italy.. I'd run out of English-dialogue films.. the whole production was a patronising cow, I didn't last long with Pfeiffer in full delusional mode..

Nope,
its Older I think. And very much a fight movie foremost.
The lead role is a bloke, some kind of martial artist.

Was there a disco dancing aspect to it as well as the Kung Fu?
I was thinking it might be the Hong Kong version of the Saturday Night Fever sequel - "Satayin' Alive"..

Really Satay is more Malaysian, but good effort though.
Good lord DFP your plot summary doesn't narrow things down very much.
Cheesy, martial arts, high school - that was most of the Hollywood B film output from 1983-1992. However there are some true giants of the martial arts fromage genre.
Check IMDB for the oeuvres of Jeff Speakman, Don "The Dragon" Wilson and Micheal Dudikoff.

Only the Strong with Mark Dacascos? He plays a school teacher in an inner city school where he teaches the students Capoeira.

Fred Ward - FTW
Ive been having vague recollections of a film I really want to watch. Strange because from what I remember it is a cheesy low budget american action film, but its been bugging me as the first time I only watched half, this is when I was about 10.
Ok, so the film is late 80's/early 90's. Martial arts/fighting themed. based in a 'rough' city school. Its american and based somewhere like the bronx , but it isnt 'rumble in the bronx'
I cannot remember much about the plot, but theres a lot of swearing in the style of 'white men cant jump' style.
Any ideas? (no its not kindergarten cop!)
