Quick opinion: shipping from Ireland

Posted on
  • I've found a stem on eBay, located in Ireland yet the guy's charging in $ and is asking $10 shipping to London. Has anyone had experience shipping smaller items (I've had a stem ship from in London for £2) to or from Ireland? What did the price run?

By the way, it's coming from Kilkenny if that helps.

    Thanks

  • Kiklenny is Republic of Ireland so postage will be full international rates.

Argh, I kinda thought so. Wonder why he's charging in $...

  • Irish e-sellers ALWAYS over charge on shipping.

Ask them to revise the P&P before paying... as i can only assume they're charging international shipping but in reality it's only slightly more then 1st class to post from Ireland to the UK.

If he won't change it & the goods arrive with a much cheaper postage amount, simply leave a neutral feedback stating that the seller has extortionate shipping prices.

It costs alot less to post from Ireland to the UK then it does to post from mainland europe to the UK even both are considered international shipping.

  • Hey, sorry to dig.
Anyone know the best company to use for shipping TO Ireland? Selling a bike on the bay and the bloke reckons you can use Royal Mail Ireland Express for £50. Cheapest I've found is around £100 ish. Any tips?
    Cheers.

  • What do chain reaction charge ? They are in Ireland. Just a thought ..

  • Just get a budget flight there,

Ryanair is showing some pretty cheap prices for early february.

TO Ireland though, seems a lot more expensive

Wish I had the time mate.

UPS and Parcel Force websites aren't very helpful either. Royal mail quote on the size of the box and then estimates that the weight is around 50kg, which is too heavy to post.

  • senditnow.com are cheap in this country .I don't know about sending to Ireland though

  • Scrub that last comment ,they don't do overseas

  • parcel2go (i think that's how you spell it? ask platini he knows how to spell everything)

  • Take it direct to PO see what they say:

  • Ryanair will kill you. Fact.

    Ryanair are nazis. Fact.

    Fuck Ryanair. Fact.

  • 33% longer fact.

  • Try www.interparcel.com - I sent a frame to Denmark using them for less than £20.
