For Sale: Forum inner tube bulk buy (aka Buy the forum a beer)

Right, so we all need inner tubes and hate forking out a fiver for good quality ones from a normal shop. We also love the forum and would like to contribute in some way. (You do, don't you?)

How about we combine the two things together and do a bulk buy of inner tubes for cheap, round the price up and give the profit to the forum?

I'm going to buy loads of Continental inner tubes from cyclebasket.com and distribute them among the forum population, if there is interest.

I was thinking of the following:

Short valve Continental, 700x18 - 25C, **£2.50 **(makes 60p per tube for the forum)

Long valve Continental, 700x18 - 25c, **£3 **(makes 90p for the forum, for the sake of simplicity)

If anyone is interested just say how many roughly and whether you want short or long valve. If there is enough to buy £50 worth of tubes I'll do it.

I'd be interested, but do they do 80mm valves, or if not, can you apply valve extensions?

They say the long valves are 60mm. I never used a valve extension so wouldn't want to wager a guess. Can anyone help?

Baciacally I have some aero rims up to 50mm, so thetwo ways to go are buy 80mm valves (preferable) but very hard to find, neither Condor or Evans, nor Cycle Surgery do them. The second way is to remove the valve on a short valve version and fit extenders, which is time consuming, requires a fiddly small wrench, and is frustrating in the dark on a Brighton night ride!

average person buying at least 5 tubes is 2.50 profit on sv or 4.50 on lv. after the first two orders it all goes forum bound
