Where is the 'ignored' league table?
There isn't one.
It took me manually unwiring the guts of the system trying to find out whether it's possible to add someone to all ignore lists, to discover that people had already done a good job themselves with P-M.

I posted this 11 minutes ago, and no-one has even looked at it, or replied.
Where is everybody?
Oh hang on, where's the UN-ignore doodad?
;)

why should being on a few peoples ignore list bother you?
don't take it personally, i certainly don't. -

MrSmith, I only used myself as an example, but I am not the issue. I'm not banned.
I just think banning someone for being an arse is a bit harsh, and highly unfortunate.

at the end of the day it's just a forum about bikes.
as nice as it is i'm sure everyone will get over it. -

I disagree GA2G. It's VB's forum, he's always said he dictates what goes on. I can't think of anyone who's stirred up so much shit as that banned guy, whassisname.. proven by the ban stats VB kindly provided us.
You might've got some people's backs up GA2G but you never had close to the shit fight going on that this guy attracted.
Anyway, if this was my forum I woulda chucked him the first time and left him chucked.
He can start a blog if he wants to spill his shit.

Can't we educate Paul-Michel in forum etiquette, and if he doesn't learn, we then do an about-face, and treat his posts as we would leperous clothing?
This thread is one banning too late, surely?

I is on a phone where's this monumental sounding banning?
I'm fed up of him, I'm all for freedom of expression (as long as people are expresing views I agree with) but his posts over the last few days seem (to me at least) like the actions of a troll.

To me, Paul-Michel demonstrates a sort of writing version of Touret's Syndrome.
Autism would be nearer the mark

no society can exist with complete unrestricted freedom of expression, there will always be people who fuck it up and take advantage. there needs to be some kind of moderation, a boundary. that's why we have something called 'laws'.
do you think muslims should be allowed to incite hatred and preach violence against non-muslims, or protest against the return of british soldiers from war? of course not. the advantages of having unlimited freedom of speech doesn't outweigh the disadvantages, or the consequences of such actions. you might argue inciting hatred and just being a knobend are two seperate things incomparable with each other but the basic principles remain the same, you can not go around saying whatever the hell you like, disregarding peoples sensitivities, and not expect some kind of retribution.
i don't reckon bannings should be given out willy nilly, really the lack of proper moderation on FGSS is a blessing but this guy was a perfect example of when it can go wrong. personally he didn't annoy me or offend me, i saw him as a troll who liked to wind people up, but he was on so many peoples 'ignore' lists for a reason.
VB should have banned him and kept him banned, but now he's finally banned i think it sets a good example.

No.
or protest against the return of british soldiers from war?
Yes.
(Although I would disagree with them doing it in that specific instance)
-
• #18
why would you think that should be allowed .. it's not just about the soldiers, it creates feelings of animosity towards them as a group, something our society doesn't really need any more of imo. again, the pros outweigh the cons.
-
• #19
IMO the pros outweigh the cons, too. I'm sympathetic to Muslim outrage about the war and the specific instances of persecution that the Muslim community has put up with over the last few years, but I think that yelling at soldiers is completely counter-productive. However, that doesn't mean it shouldn't be allowed. It's not illegal at the moment, just distasteful, and that's the way it should stay.
Let's talk about this some more, I find the whole P-M issue a bit depressing.

oh you are on fire
Its been recently pointed out, that Paul-Michel is the most (sic) "ignored" person on this forum. No surprise really, as he seems to have been aiming for that, in a very strange way.
I too am high up on the ignore list, and why I am so successful at pissing others off? Its lists.
I've taken alot of abuse because of that, but stuck it through. I always thought some would be useful, and so it has seemed to transpire.
I wish Paul-Michel were not banned. Pistanator, Wiganwill, Fred, and JahTim are a few that also sided with Paul-Michel's right to expression. True, its a small minority, and the great majority wish he were gone. I am still a pariah to some on this forum, and its not been right. Still, I believe in freedom of choice, as much as expression, and I'm sure its not hard to just ignore someone.
To me, Paul-Michel demonstrates a sort of writing version of Touret's Syndrome. It seems as if he can't quite control or contain himself, and whatever pops into his mind, leaps out onto the keyboard.
I've witnessed much blood-letting on this forum, and I've seen Pistanator as an instigator, and also on the receiving end. We're not banning him. I've wound up many (not intentionally, but it didn't matter), and I'm not banned.
When Edscoble gets a bit over-excited, others will tell him.
We are better and richer for being different. I'm not like BMMF, and he and I can both thank Lucifer for that. Difference is good.
Can't we educate Paul-Michel in forum etiquette, and if he doesn't learn, we then do an about-face, and treat his posts as we would leperous clothing?
I don't think he can help himself. And THAT'S why its funny to me. Like a kid with temporary inner ear damage.....bumping into everything, and falling over. Funny, and tragic.
Un-ban. If its reasonable........
