Cheap but nice looking seatpost

Posted on
  • im putting togather a fairly cheap bike for a friend with a £200 budget. the bike looks pretty good but desperatly needs a new saddle and seatpost.

we decided on getting the cheap £25 charge spoon saddle, as ive found it to be excellent and is within the budget.

however finding a cheap seatpost is difficult. most start at around £40+, and anything less looks like a peice of crap. i know you get what you pay for, but should somthing as simple as a metal post with a clamp on top really be this expensive. it seems silly to spend that much a seatpost when doing a budget build.

can anyone recommend a cheap post that doesnt look like a total piece of crap?

  • steal one at the next drinks.. heck, you will get a free seat as well!

  • yeah sadly i have been looking at the halfords stuff. it is alot cheaper than anywhere else. that post looks pretty good, but id love to get that logo off but laser etching is a bastard.

  • Probikekit have carbon ones on sale at the moment for £13. They've got some nice Ritchey alu ones for under £20 too.
