• I've got a pair of Shimano M324 pedals and am having trouble with adjusting the bearings just right on one of them.

I've previously used socket spanners and had no problems, this time however it's not quite working on one side; I can't seem to get sufficient torque on the locknut without it turning the cone nut tighter too. And no, there's not enough room to get a screwdriver in to hold the cone nut while tightening the locknut.

So, a long shot - Does anyone have the rather overpriced tool for tightening the lock nut while holding the bearing cone - a "TL-PD33 Cone Adjusting Tool Set"?

    Any help much appreciated.

    Cheers
