• I think I'm gonna go down... will have to catch a train at about 4pm to get there for 7

  • you might get lost ;)

  • you might get lost ;)

    WRONG.

    There's no 'might' about it.

  • been thinking of going up for it, though i will get lost and will have a great time doing so! then maybe ride back/find a floor to sleep on/get train back....
firstly find where the foundry is....

  • Its easy to find man, just use google maps and print yerself a map innit. Depends what station youre going from but its almost a straight line from Marylebone to the foundry. You go along euston road, so I think its just as easy from Euston, but a shorter journey. I still got lost though because i typed "london marylebone" into google maps instead of "Marylebone station"!!! if you do that it sets your start point a few streets south of the road you need to go on! hence, I kept trying to go north and turn right, when I should have gone south and turned left.

Man, london is so fuckng ace, and flat, but scarily big and busy, its almost intimidating, but its awesome! but shit. but great!

  • I live in Euston, and ill be riding this race, ill be heading up so if you need a guide, im here.

  • a good thing to do if you dont have a printer, is get your googlemap as big as possible with your start and finish point visible, press print screen, and paste it into an image editing program, save then copy it onto your phone, so you have a digital map that you can zoom in on. also copy close-ups of your start point and destination so you can see the surrounding roads in even clearer detail

or just get google maps on your phone.

London is easy to find your way around, dont worry about it.
i find Birmingham much more confusing!

Yeah, if youve got free internet allowance and a large-screen phone that's designed for internet usage then it might be worthwhile. I lke the simplicity of just opening a saved image and viewing it at full-screen resolution though. I hate the fiddliness of phones so it would be a nightmare for me to type in street names and all that. But either would work.

Im surprised you find Birmingham confusing, then again it does have some really annoying bits that can catch you out if you've not been here before. Maybe it's just a case of what you're used to and what you're familiar with... I'd probably find Brum confusing too if I'd never been there... err I mean here, before
