Beryl Burton, the greatest British cyclist of all time.
If you don't of her achievements then read this.
"In 1967, she set a new 12-hour time trial record of 277.25 miles[2] – a mark that surpassed the men’s record of the time by 0.73 miles and was not superseded by a man until 1969.[3] While setting the record she caught and passed Mike McNamara who was on his way to setting the men's record at 276.52 miles and winning that year's men's British Best All-Rounder. She is reputed to have given him a [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liquorice_allsorts"]liquorice allsort[/ame] as she passed him.[4] Apparently, McNamara ate the sweet."
Wicked.

Quite the opposite to NC:
My mum.
She's 67 and cycles everywhere, often does round trips of 20 miles, incredibly slowly but she loves it. And she's just as awesome.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeannie_Longo, arguably the greatest racing cyclist of all time. Without doubt the greatest female racing cyclist.
She's still competing at the highest level today. And winning. More awesome than 531!

Shanaze Reade: hero. BMX National series against men when she was 17:
I am usually always top 3 when racing the guys. I have been racing them now for 2 years and I was almost the National Champion last year though had to settle for the No 2 spot. The boys in BMX are all cool, some spit their dummies out but I just let them get on with it! It's really quite fun to watch when I kick their booties..[10]
Women's senior UCI BMX World Champion at 18.
Won the gold in the women's team sprint with Vicky Pendleton at the 07 UCI Track World Championships in her second ever track race (mentioned above, but why not again)
I am a bit in love with her.

The BMX racer Jill Kintner. So so awesome, and check out her website, jillkitner.com as she is also a professional illustrator and did all the design work on it herself. I might be in love.
