There was chat the other night that the forum needed another bonding event. I hope you're right Sam.
Likewise I can't make tomorrow, but I'll have a drink for Eilidh and for you all. Have a safe and fun ride.

Another who can't make it, due to work constraints.
Hopefully the ride will show the 'community' at its best, and any folowing drinks will continue the theme.

It's been like many another week on the forum in the last six months. I'm sure it would become a much nicer place if only we got rid of rep. Oh...

right I nominate you to do a weekly round up every week of whats occured on the forum.

nice thoughts sam, I agree, the one thing that attracted me to this forum was the sense of community and drinking with the north guys (and girls) it really comes out. We all come from very different walks of life brought together by the love of riding a bike and this should be celebrated. I think perhaps sometimes we lose site of that fact.
Saying that, I argue with my friends all the time, it doesnt mean they arent my friends it just means their opinions differ and thats no bad thing.
I will be on the ride tomorrow, if anyone wishes to come and say hello, I ride a blue bike, with stickers down the seattube.

I haven't been on the forum all week, but the OP doesn't provide enough detail to satisfy my hunger for gossip.

There'll be fairly dull weeks again. As long as we remember that real life happens off-line, we'll be fine.

I can't make the ride because of a friends birthday but I hope everything goes well. I'm sure it will be a fitting tribute. Most of the people I've met on the forum seem pretty centered and are great fun. For the most part the forum reflects this pretty nicely.

The Eilidh Memorial Ride was very emotional, but also very uplifting, the forum coming together and being as inclusive as it always has been. My belief is that now the weather is turning, there will be more rides, more gatherings, more talking, and getting to know old faces better and meet new faces, meaning consequently less time to sit on computers and bitch/whine/moan/generally act like snotty nosed brats, in an anonymous fashion.
Think before you type, and if in doubt, don't type it all, get out on your bike and ride, by yourself, with friends, family and forum members, but just ride and all the bullshit and bickering will disappear...

we should make it clear to tossers making tossers posts that their contributions are not welcome
flood them with naughty step style posts
It's been a crazy week on the forum, with lots of weird shit happening. Stories of eBay woes, dishonest friends, people calling other people a cunt without good reason, and generally an awful lot of arguments about who is 'right' and who is 'wrong'.
With Eilidh's ride tomorrow, perhaps it is now time to put to bed all the bickering of the past week and reflect on life and how it should be lived. By all accounts, Eilidh embraced life and all that came with it, perhaps we should all do the same.
Sounds odd to say it, but have a nice ride. I would have loved to have been able to attend, but I have my own family to look after tomorrow.
