thanks guys!
Does it run smooth or is it a bit noisy?
-
• #6
depends how straight the chainline is.
but yes, it should be ok. -
• #7
ok, one other crazy but related question:
Could you run a 3/32 sprocket and chain ring with an 1/8 chain?
-
• #8
Again yes, but could you run a 1/8 chain on a 1/8 ring and a 3/32 sprocket . . . ?
-
• #9
Answer is yes. 1/8 is a wider gage than 3/32 so aslong as you dont try to run a 3/32 chain on a 1/8 chain, you'll be fine.

• #10
Unless you put an inverse shim on the sprocket and ring.

cool...thanks :)
Presumably u mean run "so aslong as you dont try to run a 3/32 chain on a 1/8 sprocket, you'll be fine" ??

1/8 chain, 1/8 sprocket, 3/32 chainring is what i run, it does work but makes a little noise as the chain wiggles on the chainring. you probably won't be able to creep up on any sleepy cats thats all

anyone have a 1/8 tool i can borrow for an afternoon?
-

Is there any benefit in running an 1/8 chain rather than 3/32? I'm using a KMC Kool chain and it's HEAVY... Was thinking of getting something lighter.

No, not really. This has been covered.
Hi,
Is it possiblen to run an 1'8 sprocket with an 1/8 chain on a 3/32 chainring.
I thought I heard somewhere that it works ok, or was I just dreaming?
thanks
